Telemetry & firmware
Ground station software, mission-planner presets and replacement arm schematics are all free for registered airframes. Register the serial number printed under the battery tray and the download unlocks for the life of the aircraft.
Fleet operators get a named engineer, priority RMA and firmware builds two weeks ahead of public release. Everything below covers the K2 and K2 Pro unless a question says otherwise.
Questions, answered
How long does a battery actually last?
48 minutes hovering with no payload, 39 minutes with the gimbal recording 4K. Cold weather costs roughly six minutes — the pack warms itself on the pad before it will arm below 5°C.
Can I fly it in rain?
The airframe is IP54, so light rain and spray are fine. It is not rated for standing water: if the aircraft goes down in a lake, stop, do not power it on, and send it in for an RMA.
What happens if the link drops?
The aircraft holds position for three seconds, climbs to its configured return altitude and flies the route home on GPS and optical flow. If the link recovers mid-way you take control again instantly.
Are the arms field-replaceable?
Yes. Each arm is four bolts and a single ESC connector — about ten minutes with the hex key in the case. Replacement arms ship with the latch sensor already calibrated.
Do I need a licence to fly it?
At 1.8 kg it sits above the open-category threshold in most countries, so you will usually need an operator ID and a remote pilot certificate. We list the current requirements per region in the ground station app.
What is covered by the warranty?
Two years on the airframe, electronics and gimbal, including one no-questions crash replacement in the first year. Consumables — props, battery packs and landing feet — are not covered.
